Diving St. Augustine's Desco Reef

9-24-11

Divers visited the Desco Shrimp Boat Wreck offshore St. Augustine to collect imagery for TISIRI's "Reefs Revealed" efforts. Below are some of the images captured.

Visability is hardly ever perfect for underwater imagery offshore north east Florida but the pictures above provide detail of the structures and marine life found at the reef site.

The reef is composed of a very old shrimp boat wreck. Much of the vessel super structure is deteroited but the engine, prop, framing, and some components are still intact providing shelter and surface area for marine life.

See the coordinates and other information at the Reefs Revealed page here.
